What's The Script?:
The Garmin Oregon 550T Handheld GPS range is a massive improvement on the previous Garmin Oregon 300 and Oregon 400 series and features a barometric altimeter, electronic compass, digital camera and preloaded Euorpean topographic maps. We love the new 3 inch colour touch screen- its readable in any amount of sunlight and easy to use with the simple menu. This is the same fantastic screen that is on the new Garmin Dakota range.
What We're Loving:
Like the Oregon 450, this awesome GPS also has a 3 axis electronic compass and highly accurate barometric altimeter. We've been blown away by the design and functionality of this awesome GPS, it's so easy to navigate around the maps and access the features, you'll be dying to get out there and put it through its paces! You can also use the Garmin Oregon 550T Handheld with the Garmin's heart rate monitor and cycling cadence sensor, so it's a really versatile machine.
The Wow Factor:
The Oregon 550T Handheld GPS has a 3.2 mega pixel camera, which is great for storing pictures of the locations you've been to, but even more impressive is the geotagging option. Many GPS systems have the geocaching feature, which lets you hunt for hidden treasures, but with the 550T you can take a photo of your discovery and automatically tag its location. You can then go home and share your secrets with the huge Garmin online community using Garmin Connect. This is a state of the art unit that really pushes the boundaries of what a GPS is capable of.
