Loving Outdoors wins fantastic award and flies into the big league!

We are very pleased to announce that we won the award for Best Start Up Company at the prestigious E-Commerce Awards for Excellence in London on Tuesday night! The event was brought together by IMRG, the leading industry body for global e-retailing, and was hosted by One Show presenter Hardeep Singh Kohli. It was a glamorous bash, with a champagne reception, 3 course dinner and a party till the wee hours at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel.
Success at such an event is a huge step for us, we were competing against some of the giants of online retail- Sainsbury’s, Boots, B&Q, M&S, Wiggle, eBay and Ocada were all present, and the award sponsors included PayPal, RBS, Royal Mail and Barclaycard. Loving Outdoors was nominated in two categories: Best Start Up Company and Best Site Innovation, and we came away smiling with the Best Start Up Company Award, which was sponsored by logistic and distribution titans Norbert Dentressangle. This is a massive boost for the company and will help propel us into the top tier of online retail. E-Commerce is one of the fastest growing sectors of the UK economy, and Loving Outdoors has shot right to the forefront of this burgeoning market.
In the Best Start Up Company award the judges were looking for fresh new businesses that through their design and vision have been making waves in the e-commerce industry. To receive this illustrious accolade shows that we have really made an impact in the market, and it’s great that all our team’s hard work has been recognised. We feel our approach to online retail is unique- we strive for unbeatable customer service and feel our enthusiasm for what we do is there for all to see, so to win this award is really special.

The Best Site Innovation Award was all about the design and features of the website, and though we missed out on this we felt privileged to be nominated. Our site looks fantastic and houses social media platforms Twitter and Facebook to create a new form of retail: Social Shopping, where customers can connect with each other and get the buzz about the latest products. We’re really proud of the website so it was great that the judges acknowledged the work we’ve done.
Loving Outdoors is very lucky to have received an award at such a premier event. The awards were started to support and recognise the great things that are being done in e-commerce across the UK. There were 13 categories, with 4 companies in each category and a wide range of fantastic awards up for grabs including Best Customer Care, Best Direct Retailer and Best Re-Design/Re-Launch of the Year. Among the winners Loving Outdoors shared the limelight with were M&S, ASOS, Ocada, B&Q and Wiggle.
On behalf of the team I’d like to say a huge thank you to all our customers (where would we be without you!), and also a big thanks to our suppliers and everyone who helps out with the business.
Winning an award at this prestigious event has really boosted the presence of Loving Outdoors and will surely lead the way to further opportunities and exposure. Our hard work and innovation has been recognised and we’re hoping this is a sign of great things to come.
